06/23/10: Will Sixers turn to Turner with the #2 pick?
The Sixers will have a big decision tomorrow as they go on the clock to select the #2 pick in the NBA Draft Thursday night. The question is will the Sixers pick what many believe will be Ohio State PG/SG Evan Turner with their pick. The Sixers have a huge hole at the shooting guard position and Doug Collins is already on record stating that he sees Andre Iguodala as a small forward and Thaddeus Young as a hybrid power forward. Currently no one on the Sixers roster has starting shooting guard written on them. The logical choice would be Turner as he would immediately become the starting two guard for the Sixers.
Turner has a solid mid range and has the handles and driving ability to be a good scorer in the league. At 6'7", he more than fits the size for a NBA shooting guard. With Jrue Holiday being 6'4", the combination of a young big backcourt is extremely appealing. The Sixers will need to hit on this pick for sure as they begin to reshape a franchise that truly needs a change. All Sixers fans will be tuned in to the draft to see the beginning of the reconstruction of the Philadelphia 76ers.
