The Sixers got off to a rough start of the 2009-2010 season as the Orlando Magic buried the Sixers, 120-106. The Sixers down 2 going into the 2nd quarter fell apart as they allowed the Orlando Magic to score 41 points in the second quarter. Suddenly the Sixers were down 23 points at halftime giving up 70 points in one half. The Sixers managed a strong third quarter but it wasn't enough to overcome the huge deficit. The Magic got a big game from All Star big man Dwight Howard who scored 21 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. Ryan Anderson added 16 points and 5 rebounds. Jason Williams, who returned to the NBA after being out all of last season was a force off the bench finishing with 15 points and 5 assist.

For the Sixers, they got a career game from Marreese Speights off the bench scoring a game high 26 points and he also grabbed 5 rebounds. Speights shot 10-11 from the field. Louis Williams in his first start scored 18 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished out 4 assist. The rest of the Sixers starters weren't very effective.

The Sixers home opener on Friday night will be against the Milwaukee Bucks. Game time will be at 7:00 PM EST.
